PIP BOWERS

About Pip

After spending my formative years focusing on Musical Theatre, a love of rock and pop music led me to study at the prestigious Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford. Whilst there, I achieved a BTEC, HND and BA (Hons) degree in Popular Music Practice, specialising in Vocals. Throughout my studies I performed regularly, both as a soloist, accompanying myself on guitar or piano, and in bands, playing my own original material and covers. One of my original songs was chosen as the winner of the inaugural ACM Songwriting competition, and I was chosen to represent the academy at the MBF songwriting competition in 2008.

Since graduating from ACM, I have continued to perform regularly, touring the UK, and playing at festivals including The Great Escape and Guilfest. I also had the privilege of performing at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the ACM Gospel Choir.

I began teaching in 2011 and have worked as a peripatetic vocal, piano and guitar tutor, a lecturer in music performance at Canterbury College, workshop leader and co-director of the Canterbury Christchurch University Gospel Choir.

I have written and released two EPs as a solo artist, and have had music featured on TV and commercials.

Now based in Lewes, East Sussex, I am working on my next musical adventures...
